ReplyDeleteOh, c'mon. Can you say "cheap shot?" If you knew anything about ancient Hebrew culture, or pigs, you'd know that the methods of cooking and preserving meat back then just weren't thorough enough to make eating pigs (or birds, or snakes, or many other animals), which were often carriers of deadly disease--and apparently still are--safe. The same texts you're mocking for instructing against the consumption of pig flesh also held instructions on how to correctly cook other meats and how to deal with and prevent the spread of disease in humans and animals alike.
